Serving as a graphic design expert to the European Commission, I was asked to refresh the identity of the Schuman Security and Defence Forum for 2026. The event brings senior decision-makers from 85 of the EU’s partner countries together with European Union Member States and leadership, international and regional security and defence organisations, leading think-tanks and academia.
The identity leans into and harmonises with the European Commission’s own identity with the heavy use of ‘EU blue’ and the iconic yellow stars. Six line-drawn icons represent the core tenets of the event: platform, partnership, defence, connection, dialogue and collaboration. They’re used across materials to deliver some distinction from core EC outputs.
Deliverables for the multi-day event include everything from digital banners and social media, to location signage, programmes, presentations and merch.
